As Ueno-san’s ice diamond dropped from the first video, Angus ‘the Gin King’ is there right on cue. You’ll notice that he then spins the ice diamond on the cocktail shaker. This is where we recreated the ice as a 3D computer model and used special effects to make the ice look like it was spinning. This meant matching the reflection of the ice with Angus’s racy pink shirt. He then finishes his sequence by placing the gin on the green-screen shelf. This shelf had to be exactly where the scroll bar would be when the gin appears at the end for Peter Dorelli to serve.
It was an honour to spend the day with such exalted company.
If truth be known my involvement was somewhat influenced by Mr. Calabrese being busy
World Class is by far the most exciting, truly global, programme I have ever had the privilege to be a part of.
Look forward to seeing you all out there!

Being part vampire and also total haggard and ugly git I was worried about appearing on film… then they showed me the pink shirt and braces they wanted me to wear (”racey”??).
Then I saw the line up that I was appearing alongside… Ueno-San who is the Ice Master, Difford who really is a walking encyclopedia, the man walker who has been on prime time TV is the USA, Gary Regan who is truly one of the best all round and old scholl bartenders you will ever meet, Mr Menegos (or number Eleven as we Traveling Mixologists call him) and finally the world’s coolest bartender Peter Dorelli… yee gods and little fishes I was in trouble!
But it was easy and seamless and about the most amount of fun I have ever had with my trousers on and without breaking any laws… thank you first to all concerned in this videos making (especially the makeup department and also the patient chap dropping the ice ball) and also for all the kind comments people have said about me… well its really about the video itself but I will take credit where I can (thats the bartender in me I guess…)
